Goodbye 2009...

This past year was a good one for our family. Brady kept growing and we celebrated his 1st birthday. He learned to walk and talk. And we found out that Brady is going to be a big brother. We are so ridiculously blessed...it is unbelievable. Thank you God for an amazing year and we are looking forward to 2010!

I Am Thankful For...

I am thankful for my husband. He is the most amazing father you could ever imagine. He loves Brady so much and there will never be a doubt in Brady's mind of his love for him. David got up in the middle of the night with Brady twice this week (once for a diaper leak and once to use the snot sucker on him), while I laid in bed completley useless. David uses his personal days to stay home with Brady on Wednesdays (the only day we both work), he never uses them to have an actual day "off". Brady will know so much about his Heavenly Father because of his earthly father.

The Brady Man is Sick...

The little man had his first trip to the doctor yesterday for being sick. His temperature went from 99.8 to 101.6 in two hours. So...we went into his doctor's office and saw a new doctor (we just took whoever was available). We really liked this doctor and may switch to him, even though we like the old one, this guy was more thorough. He even gave us his home number to call anytime during the night. So, the verdict is in that he has croup. We had to sleep with our window open last night, all bundled up. This helps the cold, moist air get into his passages and relieve his cough and hopefully make his throat feel better. I thought we'd be freezing all night, but that is the beauty of three people and one dog in a bed, lots of body heat! I was scared to sleep because the doctor warned us that sometimes babies with croup will stop breathing for periods of time, but he did great. He is still is sweet, happy self. The doctor was very impressed with how well he handles being sick.
We cancelled all of our plans this week, hoping he will be better by Saturday for Halloween. Our trip is next week too, so we wanted to make sure he was well enough to travel. So, if you could pray that he heals quickly and fully, we would really appreciate it!

He's Walking...

Brady has officially taken his first steps!!! I had many talks with him about how he could not take his first steps when I was not home and sure enough, he took his first steps on a Sunday morning when I was at work. David had gone upstairs, so Haley was actually the person that saw his first steps. When David came down, he took two steps for him. Then, when they came to church, he took four steps for me. He is still mainly crawling, but is getting braver and braver about walking. He gets the cutest little grin on his face when he starts moving, it is adorable!

Big News...

We have some family news...Brady is going to be a big brother! We are only 5 weeks along, so we have a looong time to go (end of May to be exact), but we thought we'd share about our addition. I think Brady is going to love being a brother!
We are putting off our house move. It does not make any logical sense to move in the spring with a baby on the way. So...we are moving the bedrooms upstairs and making the downstairs bedrooms into a playroom and an office. This way Brady will not have to share a room either. We are making the study the nursery for the new little one.
Brady is climbing on everything now! He's just like a monkey. He loves pear yogurt and bread. He is doing great with long naps (and Mommy joins him now) and is drinking completely out of sippy cups. Woo Hoo!
We are excited to get his Halloween costume, but we are waiting until it gets closer so we know the weather better. You know how crazy Cincinnati can be!

Still Sick....

Well, our little man is still sick. His fever is not too high, but it keeps coming back. His nose is too runny and now he has a deep cough. So...we had to cancel all of our Labor Day weekend plans. We did not want him to be exposed to any more germs and we did not want him to make any of his cousins sick. Lilli's surgery is two weeks from Tuesday, so we really wanted to make sure we kept him clear of her.
In other fun news, he is sooooo close to taking his first step! He can stand for about 10 seconds or so now and he has faked us out quite a few times. He has become quite the fast little crawler in the mean time. We will post when he is walking!
And he has figured out how to play with some of his more "advanced" toys. It's just so cool to see him learning and remembering how to do things. I love it...
He still loves dogs and goes crazy when he sees one (I wonder where he gets that from). But, Brady and Roxie have been having some hard times. He loves her a little too much. So, Roxie spent the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's for a little respite. They had Lilli last night too for a campout in their backyard and Roxie spent the night in the tent. She also swallowed a bee. Roxie is not the outdoorsy type, so I'm sure this was an experience for her!
Have a great day!

September is Here...

We are so happy at the Long house that September is finally here! It means football season is here, apples and pumpkins will be coming out, and the perfect weather that is fall is arriving. Though, this summer was nice, I do not have much to complain about :)
Brady's one year photo shoot went incredible. I love so many pictures! They take awhile to load because of the quality, so I'll just be picking out my favorites and updating with those over the next few posts.
Brady had his first fever yesterday. He is doing pretty well, still happy. We are just thankful for a long weekend so that we can stay home and he can rest.
Have a great Labor Day weekend!

Well the past few weeks have been super busy! A few days before Brady's birthday, we had our first family photo shoot. That was a lot of fun ) The day of Brady's birthday, David took off work so we could spend the whole day together as a family. We went to storytime at Joseph Beth and went to the Newport Aquarium. And the next day was his party. He is so spoiled! The kid is definitely good to go on toys. Here are some of the pictures from Brady's big day and his party!

We are only 10 days away from Brady's first birthday! That is so hard to believe! He is getting his first tooth on top (he has four on the bottom) and is standing on his own. He will be walking any day now.
We have been going to story time at Joseph Beth's and he seems to like it. It's a little long for toddlers, but it gets him out with other kids, so that's good. We are going to try out a Gymboree class soon, and if he likes it, he will be starting class in September. He is growing up so fast!
He is getting pretty brave around the dogs, but they have all seemed to form escape routes around him. It's pretty funny to watch them run!
Today it is storming, so we are going to just hang out around the house and wait for Daddy to get home.

11 Months Old...

We are officially at 11 months already. It is so hard to believe! The plans are in motion for Brady's birthday party (safari theme).
One year ago today, I went to the hospital and was released two days later on bedrest. I can't believe that was a year ago, the next few weeks were not a lot of fun. But, we had a healthy baby boy and what more could we want?
And the one and only Miss Amy Iles-Moore and her hubby will be traveling to Cincinnati for Brady's birthday party. I can not begin to describe to you how stinking excited I am to see Amy. She is one of the most awesome people that I have ever met and I do not see her enough. I am hoping that when she is in town, she will suddenly miss good old Cincinnati and decide to move back :)
